Beauce Sports Grass Drags 2026 Recap

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce, Quebec became the home of snowmobile grass drag racing. For its very first edition, the Beauce Sports Grass Drags 2026 brought together roughly 130 racers, about 20 classes and close to 1,000 spectators, all there to watch snowmobiles launch at full throttle down a dirt drag strip in the heart of the Beauce region.

From the first heats early in the morning until dusk, the energy never let up. Tight races, a family atmosphere, on-site food and non-stop entertainment: this first edition delivered exactly what we hoped for, and sets the stage for an annual event in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success.

Day highlights

  • ~130 racers registered
  • 20 racing classes
  • ~1,000 spectators on site
  • 50/50 draw: a jackpot of more than $4,000 (split in two)
  • Free shuttle to and from the parking areas, running from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and often at full capacity
  • All-day entertainment by Ti Galop
  • Food service: hot dogs and drinks at the outdoor counter, a fuller menu inside (poutine, hamburgers and more)
  • Outdoor bar with servers right on the grounds

The atmosphere on site

By 9 a.m., exhibitors were setting up while racers fine-tuned their machines. All day long, the smell of grass and the roar of engines mixed with the music and Ti Galop's commentary. Between runs, families gathered around the food counter and the outdoor bar while the shuttle ran non-stop between the parking areas and the entrance. A true Beauce-style festival feel: welcoming, warm and loud in all the right ways.

The standout moment: the Arctic Cat ZR 858 Sno Pro EPS

Away from the track, one machine stole the show: the white Arctic Cat ZR 858 Sno Pro EPS, featuring electronic power steering (EPS) and SnoCheck controls. It was impossible to miss: over the course of the day, more than 100 people sat on it to try it out, snap a photo and dream a little. A smile magnet that confirmed, if there was ever any doubt, the region's appetite for new sleds.

Thank you

An event like the Beauce Sports Grass Drags 2026 doesn't happen on its own. Our thanks first to our 130 racers and to every participant who brought speed and heart to the strip, and to our partners and exhibitors who showed up for this first edition.

A very special thank you to our generous volunteers: without you, none of this would have been possible. Thanks as well to the media on site, TazMonster and Photo Pirates, whose photos and videos keep the day alive long after the checkered flag.

And a personal thank you to Gilbert Larocque, whose support made a real difference. We look forward to seeing you all at the next edition.
